Yoga is a great way to be healthy and tone up your body. It is a scientific exercise which does not have any side effects if practised correctly. You do not need to invest in expensive machineries or other instruments to start practising yoga. All you would need is some space and a yoga mat. You can either practice it indoors at your home or may even choose to do the yoga asana in an open ground or a park. A few yoga postures can easily be done as a part of your daily routine and one can then gradually proceed on to more complex postures to increase flexibility.
Keep your feet together and raise your arms up taking a deep breath. You need to keep your palms facing each other. Now try to pull your hands towards the sky.
Stand with your feet close to each other and bend down while you exhale your breath. Keep in mind that your knees should not bend. Try to bend as much as you can so that your hands touch your feet.
Place your hands on your hip and with its support try to bend backwards. Try to stretch yourself only as much as your body allows. If you face any discomfort come back to your standing position slowly.
Sit and bend both your legs so that the heels touch each other. Bring it close to your groin. Now with the support of both your hands gently push your knees up and down. If you feel a lot of pain on your thighs then stop and come back to the position where you are most comfortable. If you are unable to so the asana with both legs then do one leg at a time. This is a great exercise which can be done even during pregnancy.
Sit down keeping your back erect and then bring your right feet over your left thigh while you keep your left leg straight. Sit in this posture for a few minutes. Then do the same with the other leg. Now try doing the asana with both legs simultaneously. If you are unable to do then you should give it time and practise.
Yoga is a one of the greatest gifts given to us by our ancestors. It is known to have healed a number of diseases even those which could not be treated by medicines. It is recommended to do these asana daily preferable in the morning with an empty stomach for best results.
