Stretch marks are more prevalent among women than men. Most women get them after delivery and a few others get them even before delivery due to their weight gain and due to hormonal imbalances during adolescence.
Stretch marks appear on the skin when the collagen fibres lose their elasticity as a result of stretching beyond a certain point. Once the stretch marks appear on the skin, they are difficult to remove.
Most of us believe that stretch marks cannot be removed. Whilst it is true that they cannot be completely removed, they can be removed entirely if they are caught at the early stages and they can be prevented completely even during pregnancy with the right care and nourishment for your skin. Here are some fine ways to remove stretch marksfrom your skin.
1. Vitamin E
Massaging the skin with vitamin E will slowly remove the severity of stretch marks and finally lightens it so much that it is difficult to see on the skin surface. Take some vitamin E and massage in circular motions on the skin for about 15 -20 minutes.
Continue doing this every day at least for two months. By then the texture of your skin would show a marked improvement with fewer silvery streaks which are mostly invisible.
2. Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter is known to be the perfect cure for stretch marks. It is also a wonderful preventive that can prevent stretch marks from appearing during pregnancy and weight gain.Take some cocoa butter and massage into your skin.
Massage for 15 minutes from the fourth month of pregnancy to prevent stretch marks. Massaging will not only nourish and hydrate the skin, but also improves blood circulation, leaving the skin glowing with health and beauty.
3. Aloe Vera
The properties of aloe vera that helps in reviving damaged skin have been used to the advantage of many women.Aloe vera helps in controlling damage to the collagen fibres and in the case of stretch marks, application of aloe vera will encourage the formation of new collagen cells that reduces and reverses the effect. Extract pure aloe gel from the stalk and apply on the skin several times a day.
4. Calendula and Wheat Germ
Calendula and wheat germ are mostly used in creams and medicated ointments. Calendula helps in healing the skin and wheat germ has all the right vitamins that help in nourishing the skin and rejuvenating it from the damage caused. Mix wheat germ and calendula and massage on the skin every day twice.
5. Coffee Scrub
Take coffee powder and mix it along with some cocoa butter, olive oil or coconut oil. Massage thoroughly into the stretch marks for about 20 minutes every day. Coffee is slightly abrasive in nature and exfoliates the skin that is damaged. With continuous usage, the skin and the raised marks will be buffed and polished to form a smoother and more beautiful skin.
6. Avocado and Almond
Avocados are high in fat and a wonderful nourishment for the skin. Mash ripe avocados to form a smooth paste and add some almond oil and 3-4 drops of lavender oil as well. Use this for massaging the skin that has stretch marks.
