This commonly available product in every household kitchen helps in getting relieved from this irritable bowel syndrome. Cardamom is known to contain cineole. This is considered as a great antiseptic, which kills the bacteria that causes bad breath. It also helps in getting relieved from all the symptoms that accompany this syndrome.

Cardamom tea can be prepared by slightly crushing the pods. Remove the outer shell of the pods and grind the seeds to a powder. Add 1 teaspoon of this powder to 1 cup of tea. You can also add ginger, honey and milk for additional taste.

The bitterness of this herb is known to improve the appetite of a person and it also helps in improving the digestive juices and thus improves the flow of bile. It is also used to get relieved from stomach upset. Gentian root has been in herbal medicine for a long time.

This herb is mostly used to treat bowel disorders such as loose stool. It is also used in the treatment of diarrhea. This seed soaks up the fluid and thus it adds a bulk to the stool.

This helps in diarrhea as well as in relieving the pain, which is caused in the bowel syndromes. To prepare a drink using this herb follow these steps. Dissolve 1 tablespoon for these seeds in 8 ounces of water or in juice. You can also run it in a processor and have it like a smoothie.

Combination Tincture

A combination of herbs helps in getting relieved from this syndrome. Calendula, dandelion, fennel, St. John’s Wort and Lemon balm are the herbs. which help in getting relief. For preparation of tincture you would need the crushed powder of above mentioned herbs.

Add them in a jar along with alcohol or vinegar and keep it closed tightly for 2- 3 weeks. Strain it using cheesecloth and have 1 teaspoon of this tincture mixed with 1/4th cup of water. Have this 3 times a day for 15 days straight.
