We all know that cancer is a life threatening disease if it is not treated during the early stages. To treat cancer in time it is important to recognize its symptoms as well. In this article we will look at the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Like the name suggests, ovarian cancer is the abnormal growth of cells present in the ovaries.
The ovaries are a major organ of a woman’s reproductive system. There are two ovaries that are located on either side of the uterus. They are responsible for the production of female hormones as well as for making eggs. The rapid multiplication of cells in the ovaries can spread to other organs as well. Hence, the treatment of ovarian cancer becomes important before it is too late.
Ovarian cancer alone is responsible for more deaths in women that any other type of cancer that can happen in the reproductive system. It is best to treat ovarian cancer while it is still in the early stages. This is when the treatment is also most effective. The signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer are very typical.
Every woman, young or old, should be educated about these symptoms so that they can recognize them early on. However, sometimes the same symptoms can be indicative of any other condition. So consult your doctor or a health care professional immediately if you notice anything abnormal happening in your body.
