Washing And Cleaning

The first step before implementing any of the following remedies is to clean the wound thoroughly. Since abrasions are generally caused when you fall down and scrape your skin against a rough surface, they are generally very dirty.

Take a bowl of water and a soft towel. Wet the towel with the water and then gently remove all the dust particles in and around the wound. You can make the use of antiseptics like dettol too. Dry the wound by dabbing it with a clean cloth gently.

Vinegar

A natural substitute to dettol for cleaning of wounds is vinegar. Mix vinegar with water in the ration one is to three. Make sure that you use warm and not cold water. Now use cotton balls or a cotton swab to dab this mixture over your wound while cleaning it. This is one of the most effective ways to keep your wound clean and thus help it heal faster.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is one of the best natural anti-inflammatory agents. It is often used to get better skin. In this case it helps the abrasions heal faster and provides relief from the pain caused by it.

Using original aloe vera leaves is the best. All you need to do is slice the leaf from the middle, revealing the gel within and then apply that gel upon your wound. However if you don’t own an aloe vera plant, you can also use natural aloe gel or cream.

Honey

Honey like aloe vera reduces the inflammation and also produces relief from pain. To feel the magic of honey all you need to do is spread a layer of it over the wound. You must be careful while removing this honey. Because after a while it becomes sticky and if you are not gentle you may scrape of more skin and worsen the pain.

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil removes any chance of the wound getting infected. It also reduces the pain and helps it heal faster. You can easily prepare a salve with lavender oil in it. Take some tea tree leaves and comfrey.

Smash and mix them together with a bit of water to make it a paste. Add lavender essential oil to it. Apply this salve upon the wound once daily. You can also make green tea or thyme tea with lavender oil in it and apply that upon the wound.
