Pregnancy comes once or twice in a lifetime; taking care of the health of an expecting mother is of upmost importance; like ensuring she doesn’t fall sick and does not slip on a wet floor, does not fall down, has the right intake of food.
It is also required that being too delicate or too conscious is also not good. The pregnant lady should not consider herself fragile enough to move around; she should not be bed ridden all the time unless in exceptional cases when asked by the obstetrician. Also if you fall sick then taking home remedies should be the first step instead of going straight to your doctor.
One such very common sickness is fever. Even if you take care of all hygiene factors etc, you might catch it because of several reasons like changing climate, coming in contact with someone who has it or may be viral infections are spreading around.

Also stop non vegetarian food if you are into it. Have something like khichdi (rice n lentils boiled together) or boiled vegetables with rice. As this helps in keeping your stomach light, it makes you feel a little high on energy levels and the feeling of weakness is very less.
Consume lot of hot water (lukewarm), as it’s very important to stay hydrated at these times. Having sprouts is also a healthy option as it’s full of nutrition; chop a little salad with it like tomatoes and onions and have it with black salt.
Give the patient green tea; it is loaded with antioxidants and immunity boosters, which will help in recovering faster. Having water with ginger, basil and black pepper boiled in it is also one of age old home remedy. Consuming apples during fever and during pregnancy both is a blessing; consume it in any form (except direct from the refrigerator). But remember to keep her away from curd, cucumber, banana and other cold eateries.

Soak your feet in lukewarm to a little more than hot water with rock salt; this is an effective treatment in removing impurities from your body, it also helps in giving a good sleep.
Next is the age old treatment of keeping cold water wipes on the forehead of the patient, this is by far the most effective and trusted treatment in fever; especially if the temperature of the patient is quite high.
Don’t let the person have bath at least on the first day; let her go for a hot water sponge in a fully closed and warm room on the next day if the temperature permits. If the temperature is not very high then having hot sponge bath every alternate day should be good. But do ensure to change her clothes everyday.
