Do not use vinegar for oral thrush for prolonged periods as it erodes the enamel of the teeth. For vaginal thrush, soak cotton in the solution and apply. Alternatively soak a tampon and insert where infection has spread into the vaginal tract.

Yoghurt

Introduction of natural bacteria can thwart the fungal growth. Yoghurt is rich in live bacteria called lacto bacillus. You can also prepare buttermilk by using blending two part yoghurt with one part milk. Gargle using either of these for relief.

It is normally better not to dilute yoghurt as it decreases the potency against thrush. However, yoghurt is not supposed to be taken by people who have weak immunity as it can create other bacterial infections in such persons.

In case of an infant who is suffering from thrush, you can give baby a baking soda bath. Add 2-3 spoons of baking soda in the bathtub full of water to ease thrush.

Tea Tree oil

Tea tree oil is considered beneficial as it has anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties. Add 3-4 drops of oil in a teaspoon of water and apply on the infection with a cotton swab.

Turmeric is a very strong anti-septic. Therefore, it is used during bouts of infection and on wounds for speedy recovery. Mix a spoonful of turmeric in milk and gargle with it for relief. You can also mix a few drops of tea tree oil in turmeric and apply directly on the infection.
