Thus, clove oil is the best home remedy for pain in the gums. To apply it you need cotton balls or a cotton swab.

Add a few drops of the clove oil to it and then gently dab the aching gum with it. Hold the cotton swab in place over your gum for a few minutes. The clove oil will sting at first but gradually you will find all signs of pain disappearing. However if you have any sort of allergy to clove you should not try this out.

If you are allergic to clove oil then you might still want to try the above remedy by replacing the clove oil with oregano oil.
