Acne is a very common problem and it is mostly concentrated on areas like the face, hands, back, chest etc. Acne on the nose can be particularly irritating and can cause a lot of cosmetic problems as well. Here are some ways to minimize the acne on the nose and prevent its occurrence as well.
Ways To Get Rid Of Acne On Nose
1. Thorough Cleansing
Most often than not, acne formations are the result of dirt build up on the surface of the nose. Once the pores start getting clogged, blackheads and whiteheads can result and this can in turn lead to bacterial action and acne on the nose. Therefore, it is important to clean your nose frequently to discourage waste build up.
Special cleansers are available for acne prone skin. If you are exfoliating, remember not to scrub vigorously as it can cause dry and flaky skin on the nose. Use an exfoliating pad or a washcloth for this purpose. Remember to apply a coat of Vaseline or other moisturizer after exfoliation and cleansing as the skin will be devoid of its natural oils after the procedure. Dead skin accumulation too can cause acne and hence the importance of moisturization.
2. Acne Creams and Ointments
Acne creams which contain benzyl peroxide, salicylic acid etc. can be applied on the acne so that it does not get aggravated and spread. Acne creams can cause skin dryness and hence the application must be restricted to twice daily. Some acne creams can also cause allergies and in such cases, you must consult a dermatologist to discuss other options and choose the best possible solution for controlling the acne on your nose.
3. Natural Solutions
Sometimes, nature has the best solution lined up for you. Natural acne solutions include the use of aloe vera gel, tea tree oil, vitamin E etc. directly on the acne to prevent the acne from spreading and to remove the bacterial action as well.
All these natural solutions are also good for skin regeneration and repair after a particularly harsh acne outbreak. Any of these natural solutions can be applied on the skin several times without any side effects. Tea tree oil can be diluted before application as it can cause the skin to burn, especially if the skin is very sensitive.
Steaming at least 2-3 times a week will help in controlling the blackheads and whiteheads which are caused due to clogged pores. After steaming, you can use an apricot scrub or a natural scrub like oatmeal to remove the grime and dust.
Wash your face with cold water or apply ice cubes over the face to close the pores and prevent dirt from entering again. Doing this a few times a week, especially during the summer months will prevent acne formation on the nose and also treat the blackheads and whiteheads that are already present.
When you have acne outbreaks on the nose, using a toothpaste can help control the inflammation and also prevent bacterial multiplication as well. Using a toothpaste overnight on the acne pimple will help flatten the pimple. This will help you use a concealer for camouflaging the acne outbreaks.
