Since you are supplying these hormones through the OCP the lining will continue to sustain in your uterus and periods will not appear.If you do not take OCPs as a contraceptive but find them suitable for yourself then you can start taking a few weeks before your menstrual cycle begins.  Normally periods begin after 2-3 days of stopping the pill.

How To Take The Pill?

Recommended dose for delaying periods is three tablets a day four – five days before the date of periods. You can take this pill for a couple of weeks till you want to start your periods. Your periods will start after 2-3 days of stopping the pill.

A Word of Caution

Though a safe option for preventing menstruation, it is important that you consult your doctor before taking this pill because it can create problems in women who suffer from deep vein thrombosis, epilepsy, diabetes, who are breastfeeding, migraine, high blood pressure, asthma, etc. It is always in your best interest to discuss about suitability of this pill.
