POS is also associated with diabetes and heart problem amongst women. The hormonal imbalance mars the body’s ability to process insulin thereby causing the sugar levels to shoot up leading to diabetic condition.
Ones you show the symptoms, detection and confirmation of POS is done after certain test. Blood test for hormone level detection, blood sugar level and Cholesterol. Hormones like oestrogen, androgen, prolactine and testosterone is ascertained through blood test.

Infertility is another fall out of POS. It causes major hormonal imbalance which is also another reason behind infertility. Ovaries of women suffering from POS produce androgen in excess, which is a male hormone. This interferes with the production of ovum i.e. egg. At times the ovaries do not produce any ovum even in multiple cycles.
Pregnancy may also be disrupted by a miscarriage. The chances of miscarriage in a women suffering from POS are double. Even if there is production, the maturation does not take place.
Usually POS is caused due to hormonal imbalance and further causes it to deteriorate. Therefore, the specialist doctor may inject hormones to balance them in the body. In very rare and extreme cases surgery is also considered an option. Also the cases where surgery can help in conceiving, it is undertaken.
Laparoscopic procedure is also helpful in detecting blockages in the fallopian tubes and studying the uterine walls.
