Depression is a common symptom of polycystic syndrome. Women who are diagnosed with this syndrome are usually more depressed than the normal ones. Their hormonal changes are such that they get anxious easily and develop a negative outlook towards life. They have frequent mood swings and often need the support of their family and friends to be in a normal mood.
3. Smaller Breasts
This symptom can prove that one is a victim of polycystic syndrome. One can observe sudden changes in the breast size. They may become small and tender. In the conditions of polycystic syndrome, the hormonal changes tend to shrink breast sizes which make them weak and sensitive. Sometimes they may even start paining with mere touch.
Increased levels of androgens and insulin affect the period cycle a lot and even prohibit the ovulation process. This makes difficult for women to conceive in a natural way. It even increases the chances of miscarriage, but it is not compulsory that all women who have polycysticovarian syndrome are non-fertile. It is just very strong symptoms which can easily detect the condition there are times when even women with PCOS(polycysticovarian syndrome) can have normal pregnancy and normal birth process, while some may require mandatory medical assistance.
5. Sleep Disorders
There are many kinds of sleep disorders and all are not related to symptoms of PCOS. There is a particular sleeping disorder called “apnoea” in which the breathing process is paused for sometime while sleeping. The person may feel short of breath and may wake up in the middle of the night. In such case, it is always better to avoid sleeping alone. The person may need to take sleeping pills also for a consistent sleep.
