Yeast infection manifests in the form of oral thrush, yeast infection on the skin and vaginal yeast infection. Women mainly suffer from vaginal Candidiasis or vaginal yeast infection in different phases of their lives.
Overgrowth of the yeast Candida Albicans is responsible for vaginal yeast infection in women. Presence of a definite amount of yeast in the body is considered healthy, but its overgrowth results in different forms of infection, accompanied by a host of irritable symptoms.
Women suffering from vaginal yeast infection experience severe vaginal itching, which is followed by white and cheesy vaginal discharge and burning sensation while urinating. Oral thrush is also common in women.
Remedies For Yeast Infection
You can try the following yeast infection remedies at home before rushing to the clinic. If these remedies do not produce significant results within 2-3 days, you may need extra medications. Never neglect the symptoms of yeast infection, but apply the remedies before the condition worsens.
Maintain Dryness In The Vaginal Area
Yeast thrives in moist and humid conditions. If your vaginal area remains moist throughout the day, you may develop this infection soon. Avoid wearing tight and synthetic garments that restrict the air flow.
These garments cause profuse sweating providing favorable grounds for yeast multiplication. Wear loose cotton garments to prevent this infection. Avoid wearing undergarments while sleeping at night.
This will keep your vaginal area dry for long. Never remain in your wet bathing suit for a long time, but change it as soon as possible. Pat your vaginal area dry with soft tissues or towel every time after using the washroom or toilet.
Maintain Your Hygiene
This is the second important remedy of yeast infection that most of us tend to overlook. Unhygienic condition in and around the vaginal area is the ideal breeding ground for yeast.
Change your undergarments twice a day. Clean your undergarments thoroughly especially the crotch area. Yeast does not go away by ordinary washing.
It is advised to boil the undergarments in detergent mixed water and then wash them thoroughly under running water. You can also iron the undergarments to kill the yeast. Avoid sharing your bathing kit with others.
