Diarrhea makes you feel uncomfortable, vulnerable and weak. It is one of those common disorders which attack a healthy adult at least twice a year and disrupt normal activities.
Though there are many over-the-counter medicines available for diarrhea but the home remedies are also equally effective.
Effective Home Remedies For Diarrhea
Leaves Of Jamun Tree
Take some leaves of jamun tree. The leaves should neither be very soft nor very hard.
Mix a pinch of Indian rock salt into the paste and give a teaspoon of this paste to the patient twice a day. This is a very effective home remedy and can stop any kind of diarrhea.
Cumin Seeds And Aniseeds Powder
Take a tablespoon each of cumin seeds and aniseeds. Lightly roast them in a frying pan without adding any oil.
Grind the seeds to a fine powder and store in a glass bottle. Give half teaspoon of this powder with a glass of water to the patient three times a day.
Ginger Juice
If the patient is not inclined to take any medicine then another effective remedy which works without being swallowed is ginger juice.
Take a big ginger juice and extract its juice. Fill this juice in the navel of the patient while she is lying straight. Let her lie straight for some time. This remedy alone works well for light diarrhea.
Ginger Powder And Honey
Mix quarter tea spoon of ginger powder with one tea spoon of honey and take with water. Give this mixture three times a day to stop diarrhea.
Nutmeg
Take a nutmeg and rub it on a rough surface. Sprinkle some water to collect the nutmeg paste easily.
Give one teaspoon of nutmeg paste to the patient for soothing irritated stomach and bringing relief in diarrhea.
Curd
Eat a cup of curd mixed with rock alt and roasted cumin seeds powder three times a day. Curd contains healthy bacteria which make a lining in the stomach and help in reliving diarrhea symptoms.
Brown Rice, Bananas And Carrot
Brown rice contains starch and nutrients and carrot contains a fiber called pectin which absorb excess fluid from the gut and help in reducing passage of watery tools.
Taking a diet which contains water, brown rice, bananas and cooked carrots will help in diarrhea.

Black Tea
Take a cup of black tea with a tea spoon of sugar. Black tea contains tannins which are astringent in nature and help in reducing inflammation of intestines.
Psyllium Husk And Curd
Take two tea spoons of Psyllium Husk and mix it in half a cup of curd. Eat this mix two times a day. Psyllium husk helps in absorbing excess fluid from gut and help in making stools bulky.
Mango Stone And Honey
Take some mango seeds and dry them in sun. Grind to a fine powder and store in a glass jar. Eat half teaspoon of this powder with a teaspoon of honey twice a day.
Along with these remedies pay special attention on your fluid intake. Drink lots of water, butter milk, lemon water and Oral Rehydration Salts. Eat light food and take rest for recovering fast.
