Tea tree oil being an anti viral agent helps in treating herpes effectively. Mix olive oil and tea tree oil in equal proportions and apply on the skin three times every day. Frequent application of tea tree oil will help in the fast healing of the cold sores and blisters.
5. Licorice For Herpes
Licorice is known to cure a number of viral diseases including herpes. Licorice root powder supplements can be taken when you have herpes. A decoction prepared from licorice root contains saponins which are chemical substances that help in removing viral infection from the body.
6. Lemon Balm For Herpes
Lemon balm has sedative properties and also helps in calming the nerves. It is these qualities of lemon balm that ar used for treating the pain, burning sensation, itching, inflammation, redness and swelling that is associated with herpes. A tea prepared from lemon balm can be taken every day to relieve the symptoms. Lemon balm is also available as creams which can be applied directly on the skin surface to block the discomfort associated with herpes simplex infection. Lemon balm is also a preventive treatment for preventing further outbreaks of herpes.
