Common Symptoms Of Ovarian Cysts

A cyst is typically a sac, that is filled with fluid and can develop in any part of the body. The cysts that develop or originate inside or on the ovaries in women are known as ovarian cysts. The functional cysts are the most common types of ovarian cysts and are formed during the menstrual cycle.

The cysts known as follicle cysts are formed when the sac fails to rupture and release the egg within it. This cyst usually disappears in a period of 1-3 months. On the other hand the Corpus Leteum cyst does not dissolve after the release of the egg and is sealed off. The fluid that builds up inside the sac gives rise to cysts that may grow up to 4 inches in size. It is important to note that these cysts are generally non benign and do not cause cancer. They usually go away within a few weeks
