Acne vulgaris is a common problem during adolescence .This problem is characterized by the redness on the parts of the skin, blackheads or whiteheads, pimples or nodules. Acne occurs mostly on the face, neck and back and the where the sebaceous follicles are intense.

Maintain Hygiene
The proper hygiene of your face and neck should be maintained. You should wash your face at least twice a day so that no oil stays longer on your face and all the dead skin gets removed. The hair should be washed on every alternate day, if the hair are dirty then it will come to your face and convert into acne.
The face should not be rubbed with anything like a loofah, exfoliating glove or a towel. Use only a soft and clean towel to wipe your face.
Moisturize your Skin
There are lot of products that makes the skin dry so to avoid the dryness of the face, you should always apply a good moisturizer on the face and neck.
If you have oily skin then gel-based moisturizer is the best to use and in case of dry skin the normal moisturizing lotion should be used. Wash you face with water before applying moisturizer.
Ointments for Acne
There are lot of acne preventive agents like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and antibacterial agents that help to cure acne and prevent them. You can try these products by the using a small amount and see the results. If the results are good then you can use them.Benzoyl peroxide leads to redness on the skin so it should be used with caution.

Avoid Cosmetics
Try to avoid using cosmetics like foundation, blush, mascara etc. If you need to apply it then try to remove it after the occasion. Instead you can use herbal and oil free cosmetics as they have no bad chemicals and dyes.
Now a day’s new water based cosmetics are also available in the market so try to use them. The manufacturing date and the ingredients of the products should be read before purchasing it.
Don’t Put Anything on Hair
The hair gels, fragnances and chemicals should not be used on your hair as they will seep into your face and may block or irritate your skin. Use a gentle shampoo and a conditioner. Don’t make a hairstyle in which your hair will come in contact with your face.
Avoid Frequent Contact of Hands and Face
The frequent touch to your face with your hands will transmit the bacteria to your face and the chances of the occurrence of acne will increase. In case you already have acne and pimples on your face then you should not unnecessary prick it as it may cause infection and scar on the face.
