Eat A Healthy Diet
Healthy diet would keep your energy levels high during pregnancy. Your food must contain sufficient amount of iron so that you don’t suffer from weakness, shortness of breath, fatigue etc. Iron is necessary for the production of red blood cells. Iron deficiency causes fatigue and you will feel lethargic and lack of energy. You should consume foods such as liver, fish, lean beef, apricots, thyme ground, curry powder, almonds etc. to obtain iron.
B vitamins play vital role in providing you energy. Most of the B vitamins convert fats, carbohydrate etc. into energy. Hence even though you eat nutritious foods, they will be of no use if you are deficient in B vitamins. Fish, garlic, broccoli, spinach, mustard green, basil leaves etc. are good sources of B vitamins and you should consume them regularly.
Drink Plenty Of Water And Juice
Water is not meant only to quench your thirst but it keeps you hydrated throughout the day. It also improves your blood circulation and thus all your cells and tissues receive sufficient amount of oxygen rich blood. Instead of drinking soda or soft drinks; drink water or fruit juice. Fruit juice keeps you hydrated as well as it provides you vital nutrients.
Take Adequate Sleep
Adequate sleep at night is very important for all to remain energized throughout the day. Due to improper sleep people look lethargic, irritated, dull etc. during daytime. Pregnant women need more sleep than normal people due to various reasons. At night pregnant women may face difficulty in sleeping due the growing child. Hence to fulfill the need of your sleep you should also sleep during daytime.If you are a working woman and do not get time to sleep or take a nap in daytime you should at least take proper rest. Don’t keep standing for too long or don’t keep sitting for too long. Change your position frequently.
To keep yourself active and energetic you need to exercise regularly. Do not get indulged into heavy exercises but you can surely get into light physical activities. Walking is the best exercise for pregnant women. 20 to 30 minutes brisk walk in the morning and in the evening will keep you energized during pregnancy. Physical activities improve blood circulation and supply blood to all your cells. Regular exercise will also prevent weight gain and gestational diabetes.
Yoga & Meditation
Due to bad weather or any other reason if you can’t go for a walk, practice yoga and meditation at home. They are equally effective in keeping you energized throughout the day.
