In early pregnancy some women suffer from internal bleeding which can result in a miscarriage if immediate care is not taken. Any kind of abdominal cramps, dizziness or fatigue should not be ignored.

High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure in the first trimester is a warning sign of a difficult pregnancy. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is required throughout the prenatal period and one should follow a low salt diet and take other precautions as advised by the gynaecologist.

Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes is a condition when blood sugar level rise above normal in early pregnancy. It should be carefully treated with diet management and in some cases insulin shots are also required.


Iron demand of the body is increased at the onset of pregnancy and women who are already anaemic before they get pregnant become anaemic at the early stage of pregnancy. They feel extreme fatigue, weakness and dizziness.

Hyperemesis Gravidarum (Severe Nausea)

Nausea and morning sickness is common during early pregnancy but extreme nausea and vomiting is a warning sign of Hyperemesis Gravidarum in early pregnancy. In this case a pregnant woman is unable to digest anything and if untreated it can be life threatening for the mother.

She may suffer from dehydration, nutritional deficiency, high or low blood pressure, liver disorder or kidney disease. If not treated in time Hyperemesis Gravidarum may affect the growth of fetus and it can result in an early delivery or low birth weight of the baby. The early warning signs of pregnancy should not cause any worry but it should not be ignored or taken lightly. You must take adequate precautions and treatment after consulting with your gynecologist.
